I’m Stepping Out, and I’m Slightly Terrified
"You need to step out from behind the curtain!"
Those were the words a website consultant spoke to me when I was thinking of revamping my old website. I was suggesting some tweaks. She was encouraging a massive overhaul. “For everything you have done in your career, you need to step out from behind the curtain and start standing front and center.”
Those words stayed with me as I started thinking about my new website, www.kristenrace.com, which I proudly unveil to you today. As I began to envision this new website, and my ubiquitous presence in it, I couldn’t help but think about some of the women who have inspired me along my journey – women who, on a daily basis, find themselves front and center. Some of these women are on my website as well – a photo, a video, a quote. I offer them my heart-felt gratitude for inspiring me along my journey. There are many, and here are just a few.
Thank you, Sara Blakely, for inspiring me in the way you commit yourself to philanthropy and your focus on empowering women. You are an amazing mom and incredible role model. You make the world a better place.
Thank you, Laura Cusenbary, for inspiring me to find the laughter in a day, and to remember that when life gives you a whole SH*T-ton of lemons, just make some damn lemonade.
Thank you, Sheryl Sandberg, for inspiring me in the way you support other women – from the ones who are rising leaders in the corporate world to the ones trying to figure out how to crawl out from under their own covers after tragedy strikes.
Thank you, Michelle Johnson, for inspiring me with your challenge to create programming that isn't a woe-is-me story for working moms, but something that helps us thrive in all aspects of our life.
This list can go on and on – and as my work goes on, and I become increasingly inspired by such women, my desire to support these types of women grows. So as you poke around my new site, you will see a common theme – a continued desire to provide simple, brain based mindfulness solutions, with a focus towards those kick ass moms with big ass jobs . My goal is to provide solutions that help us balance our brains, so we can feel balanced in our lives.
If you have any feedback about my new site, I would love for you to hit reply and share it. And if I can support you and/or your world in any way, please do not hesitate to let me know how I can help.
